The Dirty Hippie's Best of the Best

I started off on my quest to go granola for health reasons.  But I'm very lazy, so I wanted it to be simple.  Ha!  Simple?  There was a ton of trial and error, which is why I decided to write this page!  Now the switch can be simple for you.

Most of the underlined headings are links to my blog articles about that particular adventure.  If you click on toothpaste, it will take you to my page explaining why I ended up deciding to switch, and why I switched to the particular product posted below.  Not everyone will agree with my choices, which is fine.  Have fun discovering your own favorites!  I also tried to include both a homemade recipe and a product, so you have choices.

As promised in my blogs about this adventure, here is your easy go-to page for all of my granola favorites:

Housecleaners
General Cleaner
Basic H by Shaklee OR
diluted vinegar spray

Laundry Detergent & Spot Treatment
GetClean Fresh Laundry by Shaklee OR
Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap (1/4 cup per medium load)

Dishwasher Detergent
GetClean by Shaklee

Heavy Duty Cleaner
GetClean Scour Off Paste by Shaklee

You may have noticed a theme here:  Shaklee!  There are a lot of good home cleaner options, including just using baking soda and vinegar when cleaning, but I wasn't willing to wade through all the money and disappointment it would take to find the "perfect" granola cleaners.  Instead, I went with a brand I trust and know has good results.  I'm all about making this transition as ridiculously easy as possible.

Make sure you buy organic oil when selecting your favorite type of oil.  They use chemicals to pull out the oils from whatever plant they're extracting them from if you do not buy organic products.  That's what the difference is between extra virgin, virgin, and light olive oils are.  Extra virgin is just squeezing the olive; all the other types of olive oil use processing and chemicals to remove even more oil from the poor little olive.  Nobody wants to be processed!

Months into this I now have clear skin.  No more acne, backne, razor bumps or burns, mystery rashes, or keratosis pilaris!  How has making the change affected you?

Me in my brand new skin. Ta-da!
